1.. Excellent pollution resistance.
Insulator’s anti-pollution performance mainly depends on the structure of the product and the shape of the umbrella skirt. A lot of work has been done in this area. Through design optimization, artificial pollution test optimization and natural pollution test optimization, the insulator umbrella skirt with different sizes and edges under the umbrella was finally determined. The insulators with rated voltage 126kV and 252kV bending failure load no less than 12kV and creepage ratio of 25mm/kV developed by this skirt can withstand the highest operating phase voltage for a long time under the condition of 0.12mg/ CMS 2 equivalent salt density, that is, the insulator’s creepage distance of class III and the insulator’s salt density of class IV. The rated voltage of 550kV is 25mm/kV insulator can operate for a long time under the equivalent salt density of 0.06mg/ CMS. Insulator’s pollution resistance level is leading in China, and its salt tolerance value is one third higher than that of similar products with the same crawl distance and equal diameter umbrella skirt. The experimental results show that the maximum salt density of insulators with creepage ratio of 31mm/kV is 0.25mg/ CMS 2.

2, high earthquake resistance level.
Insulators with rated voltage of 252kV and 550kV have been tested in Beijing Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research for earthquake resistance with intensity of magnitude 9, and the results show that the tested insulators are intact.

3. Low radio interference.
An insulator with rated voltage of 550kV can produce radio interference not greater than 500μV at 1.1 times the maximum operating phase voltage, no visible corona on a clear night, and visible corona voltage up to 450kV.
